Rolf, your driver and organiser:
I was born in Germany
in 1961. One of my best experiences of living in Europe is the extensive
travel I did as a teenager. We climbed rocks, bushwalked and
skiied through some spectacular places, most of the time in a small Kombi
van.
After spending a year
or two cruising and working in The States, I eventually made it to Australia,
falling instantly in love with the place. With my trusty Trumpy I
got to travel quite a bit, keeping busy as a carpenter and mechanic.
I eventually felt
the lure of the mountains. So by '95 I found myself
living in the Victorian Alps, skiing every year, biking in the summer,
travelling when I could.....
My disposition for travel and adventure made it easy to create Bushaus.
I love anything that keeps me outdoors - bike riding, rock
climbing and just being in the mountains, although I've also lived for some time on
the coast. The Great Southern ocean of Southern West Australia would
have to be a favourite, its a powerful and beautiful place.
My interest in living
well extends to food, and on a tour with Bushaus there'll be plenty of gourmet
dining, with the availability in Australia of fresh organic produce and our
great wines being second to none.
