The Great Thaus Expedition

Terrence Clancy sharpens up his act. Moulemein, NSW
Our thanks go to the whole crew who made up the Great Thaus Go West holiday. It was a wonderful tour in everyway. We're still glowing from the experience.

A beautiful day for a fish. Streaky Bay, SA
The weather shone gold on us day in day out and we made the most of it with moon lit walks and picnics on dry river beds, rock scrambles upon Mt Augustus and late afternoon dips in cool pools of outback water.

Saluting the Sun. Head of the Bight, SA
At Moulemein we lunched at Howards Park and got the bug for local history. On Fathers Day we found ourselves fishing on the jetty at Streaky Bay, soaking in the sun. Our long drive across the Nullarbor was clasic. We played cards and baked scones (thanks to Annette) and even managed our first yoga session, breathing in the southern ocean on the coastal edge. On our longest day we managed a tip toe into the Cockebiddy cave before arriving at Fraser Range to a magnificent roast dinner.

Tonka Toy tyres. Kalgoorlie, WA
At Kalgoorlie we donned hats and dress jackets and lunched for the longest time at the annual race round (and found ourselves on TV).

Mt. Augustus outback pub. WA
Meekathara provided a positively cosmopolitan interlude inbetween long red earth roads in a barren landscape. And did we wash it all out with our arrival in Carnavon, oceans of blue - pure Indian Ocean bliss....

and more yoga! at the base of Augustus too and at the Pinnacles...

We'll let the pictures tell a bit of a story. And we'll await some entries from the personal journal notes from the tourers themselves.

When can we tour again?
